Nervosa guitarist Prika Amaral revealed details about the departures of Fernanda Lira and Luana Dametto , and the band's future, to Rock Meeting .
Amaral says she was notified about her former bandmates' departure hours before the public announcement, but that she had been expecting it for some time. However, there was no fight between the artists, only friction and a clash of ideas and objectives, which obviously harms any group.
“For all of us, living and playing in Nervosa is a dream,” said the guitarist. “We were waiting for things to change and trying until the last minute to make it work, but when it came time to compose, we saw more clearly that it wouldn’t work anymore. We weren’t going to deliver a good album together, so separating was the best thing.”
She also says she knows that Lira and Dametto already have another band, but affirms, “Comparisons are normal, but each one has their own value, their own differences, and their own characteristics. Nobody is better than anyone else. Someone might be less prepared than another, but that can be fixed with practice.”
Prika also states that she would like the new Nervosa lineup to consist only of Brazilian artists, but that the criteria go beyond nationality. The artist believes it will be a difficult task, as there are many competent women, but that it has been incredible to meet so many strong and resilient girls.
The guitarist takes the opportunity to thank the fans who are supporting the band in this new phase, “I wanted to thank everyone for all the support I have received. This separation has given me incredibly positive energy from the audience, and that has filled me with even more strength. I can only thank everyone for this enormous affection!”
And to excite fans who may be anxious about what Nervosa might become, Prika declares, “Nervosa won’t be the same as it was, it will be different, but the essence will remain, and I guarantee I won’t disappoint. The girls I chose for the auditions are incredible and very competent. I’m eager to announce, but I’m still finishing some auditions, so stay tuned for news soon!” We’ll be waiting, Prika!
