Presenter mentions Nickelback in joke about Trump and Thrash Metal vocalist elected in the US.

John Oliver highlights Danica Roem's attitude

The host of the famous show "Last Week Tonight," John Oliver, quoted the band Nickelback when making a joke about the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

After showing a video in which US Congressman Paul Gosar used the same type of response as Donald Trump, dodging questions with "fake news, fake news," John Oliver says:

"Okay, he's basically copying Trump. And if there's anything worse than something that's already bad, it's a cover band of that bad thing. If Trump were Nickelback, this Paul Gosar would be Bickelnack, a Nickelback cover band, not as good as the original, but a frightening sign that the disease is spreading.".

In the same video, John Oliver also tells the story of Danica Roem , the first openly transgender person to be elected in the United States and who is the vocalist for the thrash metal band Cab Ride Home.

Oliver praises Roem's response when the reporter asks her, "What would you say to your defeated opponent Robert Marshall, who offended you so much during the campaign?" And Danica Roem replies:

"Starting in January, he will be one of the people I represent in Congress. And I will not disrespect someone I represent.".

John Oliver had recently mentioned Slipknot in another episode
