Powerwolf , Wake Up The Wicked on May 17, 2024. The album is scheduled for release on July 26th via Napalm Records . The track, "1589," tells the story of Peter Stump , the Werewolf of Bedburg, who was executed in 1589.
According to Blabbermouth , the story behind the single is considered true. Peter was a farmer who, after being defamed as a werewolf, confessed under torture to several murders in the region. The alleged werewolf was cruelly executed on October 31, 1589.
To achieve a perfect and realistic final result, Powerwolf filmed the music video in England, with impressive locations and special effects, making it the band's most elaborate production to date. Check out the single's artwork on the Instagram :
