Possessed's lead singer walks for the first time after 30 years in a wheelchair.

Jeff Becerra was paralyzed from the chest down after being shot in 1989.

Jeff Becerra , lead singer of Possessed , managed to walk for the first time in over three decades using a wheelchair.

In 1989, the musician was the victim of a violent attempted robbery and was shot twice, leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. At the time, the band had broken up for the first time and Becerra was working in construction, so he resisted the robbers, as he recalled in an interview with The Underground Metal Gamer (via Blabbermouth ). "I should have just given them the money, but I was screwed, I was cornered," he said.

Fortunately, the musician's recovery seems to be progressing very well with the help of robotic legs that allowed Becerra to take his first steps in 32 years. Without giving further information about the treatment and current state of the vocalist's health, the band published the emotional footage on social media.
