Porcupine Tree vocalist Steven Wilson releases new solo album.

Steven Wilson, the founder of Porcupine Tree, released his fifth solo album today, titled “To The Bone”. The work was produced by himself and Paul Stacey, who has worked with The Black Crowes and Oasis.

Asked during a Q&A session with fans, Wilson revealed which song from the album he is most proud of writing. Wilson said:

“I’m pretty proud of the whole album. But there’s one song that I’m a little more proud of than the others, which is ‘Permanating.’ It’s by far the happiest song I’ve ever written. I’m not known for happy, pop songs.”

Wilson said the music is influenced by his love for Abba: “I don’t know why it took me so long to make a song that sounds like Abba. Because Abba is one of my five favorite bands of all time. They’re in my musical DNA.”

For some reason I've always gravitated towards more melancholic material, but this time I did something I never thought I could do, which is to make a truly happy and Pop piece.
