Metallica is in the Top 10
The website Pollstar published a list of the highest-grossing world tours of 2012. Although the list is dominated by pop artists, some positions were filled by rock bands.
Metallica was the only act to appear in the Top 10, in eighth place. The band's tour grossed $86.1 million. Madonna, who topped the list, grossed $296.1 million.
Van Halen also appears, in 15th place, as does Scorpions, in 38th, and Aerosmith, in 44th.
