This week's Wikimetal poll, "What is the best guitar solo?", resulted in a technical tie between the solo from "Stairway to Heaven" by Jimmy Page and "Mr. Crowley" by Randy Rhoads. The poll closed when the two solos were separated by 1 vote.
Stairway to Heaven finished slightly ahead, with 450 votes. The song was released in 1971, included on Led Zeppelin's fourth album. Page has said that he would need to work very hard to reach that level of genius again. Listen to the Wikimetal interview with Led Zeppelin here
