The film is an adaptation of the futuristic novel
Steven Spielberg explores a dystopian future in 2045 where pop culture is a major part of a virtual universe called OASIS. The film Ready Player One is based on the book by Ernest Cline and has a new trailer.
Shown during Comic Con Experience 2017 in São Paulo, the video features a snippet of the classic Van Halen track "Jump".
Ready Player One tells the story of a young man who discovers a world full of possibilities when the creator of a famous and important game hides a treasure within the game worth his entire fortune.
The cast consists of Ben Mendelsohn (Nolan Sorrento), Simon Pegg (Ogden Morrow), Mark Rylance (James Donovan Halliday), TJ Miller (i-R0k), Hannah John-Kamen (F'Nale Zandor), Olivia Cooke (Samantha Evelyn Cook, Art3mis) and Simone Kirby (Loretta).
With a screenplay written by Zak Penn, the film is scheduled to premiere on March 29, 2018.
