Planet Hemp performs a farewell show in São Paulo with guest appearances by Pitty, João Gordo and more.

The band revisits three decades of cultural impact with a well-crafted repertoire, special guests, and a celebratory audience.

For over 30 years, Planet Hemp remained one of the most influential bands in the country, combining rap, rock, and social commentary. The farewell shows of the "A Última Ponta" solidified this legacy by presenting a complete overview of their career. And now, it was São Paulo's turn to witness and say goodbye to one of the great names in Brazilian music. The band packed Allianz Parque on Saturday night, the 15th, and proved that, even after the end, they will remain timeless.

The show started early, shortly before 8:30 PM, with historical facts shown on the screen, including events in the music world such as the emergence of Secos e Molhados and the debut album of Chico Science & Nação Zumbi . It also touched on political events like the Candelária Massacre, Nelson Mandela's victory, and even the victories of the Brazilian national team. All of this was interspersed with facts recounting the history of the band Planet Hemp.

As a career celebration and the band's final show in São Paulo, Planet Hemp took to the stage with 37 songs, spanning all phases of the group, from their debut with Usuário (1995), which propelled the band to national fame and sparked debates about censorship and drug policy, to compositions from their most recent album, Jardineiros Os Cães Ladram, Mas a Caravana Não Pára (1997) and A Invasão do Sagaz Homem Fumaça (2000), albums that solidified their formula of heaviness and direct lyricism, also stood out

The last tip was lit in São Paulo.

The audience's reception reinforced the historic significance of the farewell. Fans packed Allianz Parque and responded intensely to the 90s classics, singing in unison songs like "Dig Dig Dig (Hempa)", "Legalize Já" and "Ex-quadrilha da fumaça". The reaction remained strong for the more recent tracks, indicating that the group managed to maintain its relevance even during periods of hiatus. The audience also sang along to the timeless hits of the special guests, who marked Planet Hemp's history and were there to participate in the farewell.

The first guests, Emicida and Seu Jorge, received a standing ovation when they sang " Nunca tenha medo " (Never Be Afraid), followed by Emicida's song, "AmarElo". Seu Jorge also played the flute on the track "Biruta". Between songs, the members revisited significant moments in their career, such as episodes of police repression, political controversies, and the influence the group has had on public debate over the years.

After a few more hits, Planet Hemp surprised the audience by presenting their own version of "Admirável Chip Novo," a hit by Pitty , featured on Admirável Chip Novo (Re)Ativado, an album celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Bahian singer's debut album. The cover, heavier and marked by rap-rock beats, got the crowd going when Pitty joined them on stage to sing along, followed by another song by the singer: "Máscara."

Planet Hemp invites João Gordo to close the final show of his career.

Chico Science has always been an acclaimed figure who inspired Planet Hemp, and a proper tribute and thanks were in order. Therefore, the band sang "Samba Makossa" while B Negão held the iconic hat that Chico Science used to wear. The show revisited the entire trajectory of Planet Hemp, paying homage to those who were part of that history, such as Marcelo Yuka and Fábio Kalunga . And of course, the show was dedicated to Skunk, founder of Planet Hemp who died of AIDS in 1994.

As the show neared its end, another important name took the stage: Black Alien , former member of Planet Hemp. To the sound of applause from the audience, the rapper sang three tracks he co-wrote with his former bandmates, such as "Contexto," "Queimando Tudo," and "Deisdazseis." The final act featured a surprise guest appearance, revealed only at the time of the show, and if the intention was to surprise, they succeeded. João Gordo arrived with a bang, to sing Planet Hemp's version of "Crise Geral" by Ratos de Porão . And the last Planet Hemp song ever performed in São Paulo was "Mantenha o Respeito," with João and Black Alien joining in.

The final show officially concluded a story that transcended the music scene and permeated the critical thinking of different generations. The farewell concerts not only ended Planet Hemp's career but reaffirmed their artistic, political, and social importance within contemporary Brazilian music. The last show of their career took place in the band's hometown, Rio de Janeiro, at Fundição Progresso, on December 13th. And then, the final point will be lit.
