There are two moments in the history of Brazilian music: before Planet Hemp and after Planet Hemp. Thirty years of history, six albums (four studio and two live) and an arrest for incitement in 1997.
The group spent years fighting for decriminalization with explicit lyrics addressing social issues and openly discussing drugs, shocking acts for Brazil in the late 1990s. All this while, musically, exploring diverse genres, from jazz to hardcore, without ever losing their Carioca (Rio de Janeiro) and suburban identity.
This story comes to an end on November 15th at Allianz Parque in São Paulo, and Brazil's most famous "stoners" will once again land in the São Paulo capital to smoke everything down to the last roach. This time, everything, for sure.
And to celebrate the career of one of the most iconic groups in Brazilian music, Wikimetal has selected five heavy songs that should have been played at Planet Hemp's last meeting with their São Paulo fans. Check them out below:
"100% Hardcore"
"The End of the End"
“Maryjane”
“Raprockrollpsicodeliahardcoreragga”
"Take it off"
Bonus: “SAMBA MAKOSSA”
