Pitty Espelhos – Versões Completas de Admirável Chip Novo last Friday, the 16th, featuring covers of Cindy Lauper, The Beatles , Bad Brains , and other bands that inspired the artist.
The album compiles the versions presented by Pitty on the DVD of Admirável Chip Novo , recorded and released in 2004. These songs were a way to showcase the band's range of influences, which included names unexpected by the public, such as Velvet Underground, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Nirvana , as well as Brazilian music, such as Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil and more.
Now, these songs have finally been remixed by Jack Endino, whose resume includes names like Nirvana, L7, and Soundgarden, and have been compiled into the album Espelhos (Mirrors). “In the DVD documentary, we discussed why we chose these songs and commented that they are our mirrors, those who taught us something, where we look and see ourselves in some way, whether in Cindy Lauper or Queens of the Stone Age, there's something we see on the other side that's a mirror for us,” the singer explained in a press release.
On the album, Pitty (vocals, guitar and tambourine) is accompanied by Peu Sousa (guitar), Duda Machado (drums) and Joe (bass). The album was produced by Rafael Ramos.
The album's release on streaming platforms is part of the 20th-anniversary celebration of the classic " Admirável Chip Novo ," the singer's first album, released in May 2023.
