Last Friday, the 9th, singer Pitty gifted her fans with the new song "Tempo de Brincar" (Time to Play), an intriguing composition with a strong presence of guitar and bass to celebrate Rock Day in advance, which is celebrated on July 13th.
Any resemblance to Pitty's earlier sound is not a mere coincidence. "Tempo de Brincar" is a 2010 composition by the singer and Martin Mendonça , and it had been kept in the archives until now.
“The music is rock, very 'stoner', and I built the lyrics thinking of 'Time to Play' as an analogy for various things. In English it's 'to play' and that has several connotations; touching, playing, acting, and even erotic games. The song talks about the night being a time to play,” Pitty explains in a statement.
The music video released alongside the song drew inspiration from grunge aesthetics and features some subtle elements of the eroticism mentioned by Pitty. The visuals show the singer and Martin alternating between instruments; she plays the drums and sings, while he handles the guitar and bass.
