VIPER used their social media on Thursday, the 26th, to provide more details about the health status of bassist Pit Passarell . The band recently canceled a show in Curitiba of the musician's clinical condition, but had not yet clarified the exact cause of the health problems.
According to a statement, Passarell was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. In the band's words, he is "facing this battle with great strength, courage, and the determination he has always shown throughout his life." Visits are currently restricted, but the musician's family is offering "all the necessary support" and he is receiving "the best medical care," according to the statement.
In the same post, VIPER clarified that they chose not to disclose details of Pit Passarell's health condition until all tests were complete. "Some of them are extremely complex and took some time to be conclusive, as was the case with the biopsy, which was carried out over the last few days," they explained.
