David Gilmour Pink Floyd reunion , especially with Roger Waters . During an interview with The Guardian , the guitarist stated that there will "absolutely not" be a return of the group.
“I tend to stay away from people who actively support genocidal and autocratic dictators like [Vladimir] Putin and [Nicolás] Maduro . Nothing would make me share a stage with someone who believes it’s okay to treat women and the LGBT community that way. On the other hand, I would love to return to the stage with Rick Wright , who was one of the kindest and most talented people I’ve ever met,” said Gilmour.
Richard Wright was the keyboardist for Pink Floyd and also played with Gilmour in his solo career; he passed away in 2008.
Waters and Gilmour's relationship
In recent years, their relationship has been marked by strong statements from one to the other, but in 2023 it reached a critical point. Gilmour's wife and lyricist, Polly Samson , said on her social media that Waters was a "rotten anti-Semite."
"Sadly, Roger Waters, you are antisemitic to your rotten core. You are also a supporter of [Vladimir] Putin and a liar, thief, hypocrite, tax evader, lip-syncer, misogynist, envious, megalomaniac. Enough of this nonsense," wrote Samson.
Gilmour commented on the incident in an interview with Rolling Stone . He said that what is happening is a one-sided thing and that it has been intensifying, especially since Waters left the band. Regarding his wife, Gilmour said that "Polly felt she had to speak her mind."
