Last Tuesday, the 9th, Pink Floyd changed all the covers of their albums on streaming platforms, such as Spotify and Deezer, for example. The albums no longer have the original artwork, and instead, they now have a black background with descriptions of the covers.

In the classic film The Dark Side of the Moon (1973) , for example, the phrase "a prism reflects light across the spectrum" appears. In Animals (1975) , "a pig floats above Battersea Power Station". And in "The Wall", "a white brick wall with red graffiti".

Furthermore, the profile picture has also been replaced. The icon also has the same look as on the covers, but without any description. For fans, the change is no coincidence, as Wish You Were Here will be 50 years old next Friday, the 12th. There is an expectation that a commemorative edition of the album will be released.

The connection might make sense, since, at the time of its release, the cover of the iconic album was also "hidden." The first versions came covered in black plastic. Upon first touching the album, the fan would find a sticker of two robotic hands shaking hands. [ via Igor Miranda ]
