Fifty years after the release of the iconic song "Wish You Were Here," Pink Floyd released the official music video.
The release is part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the self-titled 1975 album . The album received a special edition, titled Wish You Were Here 50 , with physical and digital re-releases , as well as a box set with unreleased material.
The music video combines archival footage of the band in the studio and in motion, everyday scenes like walking through a subway station, and psychedelic animations. This visual mix perfectly reflects the sonic and emotional atmosphere that has made the song one of the most revered in rock history.
In addition to previously unseen footage, the video revisits rare moments from the band and evokes the experimental identity that has always marked Pink Floyd, symbolically connecting past and present. The audiovisual production arrives in the same week that Wish You Were Here 50 once again reached the top of the charts in the United Kingdom.
