The album is scheduled for release in October

David Gilmour's wife, Polly Samson, revealed in a tweet that Pink Floyd will release a new album in October. Entitled "The Endless River," the album will feature reworked excerpts from the recording sessions of the band's last work, "The Division Bell," from 1994.

The new album features recordings by keyboardist and founding member of the band, Rick Wright, who passed away in 2008. Vocalist Durga McBroom-Hudson, who has collaborated extensively with Pink Floyd and David Gilmour, commented:

“Originally, it was supposed to be a completely instrumental album, but I went into the studio in December and sang on some tracks. David then increased the backing vocals even more and did the lead vocals on at least one of the tracks.”

A spokesperson for the band stated that there will be no tour following the album's release.
