Pierce The Veil released their first single in 6 years this Thursday, the 1st. The band made their comeback with the new song "Pass The Nirvana," which is their first release since 2016.

According to lead singer Vic Fuentes , the song is about "the various terrible traumas that young Americans have suffered in recent years." In a statement, he mentions some of these traumas:

“COVID, the absence of proms, no graduations, an insurrection, school shootings. The list is enormous. Their lives were turned upside down like clothes in a dryer as the tensions of our country seeped into our homes, friends, and family. For me, this song represents a euphoric disconnection from all the anxiety and stress, and it’s about finding some kind of peace or nirvana.”

On their social media, the band also assured that the release of the single is "just the beginning" and that they have been working on new material.
