About eight months ago, the pop-punk band Pierce The Veil performed a cover of Radiohead for the Australian radio station Triple J. The audience response was so positive that they ended up incorporating their version of the British song into the setlist of their latest tour—which even included a stop in Brazil during the Lollapalooza festival.

The final step in completing the cover took place last Friday, the 19th, when they released a studio version of the track. Already available on streaming services, the song remains faithful to the original, but features the addition of more aggressive and distorted guitars, imprinting Pierce The Veil's sound on the version.

“We are products of the MTV era of the 80s and 90s, so songs like 'Karma Police' live deeply in our childhood minds,” the band stated in a press release. “We unearthed [the song] as an opportunity to enjoy something comforting and familiar. Drawing inspiration from the memories and emotions the song evokes in us, we created a version that reflects where we came from as a band. We were delighted to discover that the song remained haunting and beautiful even when fueled by distortion pedals and loud guitars.”
