Phil Campbell 's funeral took place last Wednesday, the 13th, at an undisclosed cemetery in Wales. The musician passed away on March 13th after spending several days in intensive care.
Widow Gaynor Campbell and sons Todd, Dane , and Tyla shared images of the grave of the former Motörhead on social media. In the post, the family thanked everyone for the support they received after the musician's death.
“Yesterday, we buried our beloved father. We would like to thank everyone who was with us to celebrate his brilliant life. We will never tire of hearing stories about him and how he touched the lives of so many people. We will love him forever and share his legacy for many years to come.”
The guitarist was a member of Motörhead between 1984 and 2015. During the band's last twenty years, he was the group's sole guitarist and participated in landmark albums in their discography, including Orgasmatron, 1916 , and Bastards. After Motörhead disbanded, Campbell dedicated himself to Phil Campbell And The Bastard Sons, a project created with his sons. Recently, the band confirmed that it will remain active after the guitarist's death.
His death, which occurred after surgical complications, caused a wave of emotion, recalling his importance and the fundamental role he played for decades alongside Lemmy Kilmister.
