Vocalist Phil Anselmo was caught on video at the last Dimebash – an event honoring the late guitarist Dimebag Darrell – raising his right hand in a Nazi salute and shouting the white supremacist slogan "White Power".
The video was shared by one of the fans who attended the show, with the description: “I originally cut this moment from my 'Walk' video but I feel people deserve to see it. A very sad moment that ruined the night for me. Pantera is not about this!!! Completely out of line and I can understand why Vinnie Paul doesn't want anything to do with this guy. Phil Anselmo you are a disgusting racist!!”
Phil Anselmo even released a statement saying it was just a joke, regarding the fact that he was drinking white wine that night. The vocalist, however, is famous for controversies regarding the issue and at a Pantera show in 1995 he gave a long speech about white supremacy.
