Peter Baltes has been officially announced as the new bassist for UDO. The news was shared via the band's social media on Friday the 14th.
Baltes had been acting as UDO's touring bassist since September. He replaced Tilen Hudrap , who was hospitalized after falling ill during a show in Germany. In December, Hudrap announced he was leaving the group to "pursue other interests in the metal world."
Peter Baltes, like vocalist Udo Dirkschneider , is a former member of Accept . He left the band in 2018 and reconnected with Udo during the singer's solo album, My Way (2022), also collaborating on the album Arising (2021) by Dirkschneider & The Old Gang .
In a press release, Udo Dirkschneider commented (via Blabbermouth ): “I have a long friendship with Peter Baltes that has never been affected by the disagreements with Accept over the past few years. The discussions were exclusively with another person and his wife. It should be clear to everyone who I'm talking about! All the other members of Accept have always been very good friends.”
