The band UDO has a tour scheduled in Brazil for October , and they will be traveling with bassist Peter Baltes .
Last Sunday, the 4th, the band's current bassist, Tilen Hudrap , had to be rushed to the hospital after collapsing on stage during the last two songs at a performance in Munich, Germany.
Despite being in good health, Tilen unfortunately succumbed to all kinds of stress after two grueling months. Currently, the musician is hospitalized in an excellent hospital in Munich, where doctors continue to conduct tests to determine the quickest way to restore him to full health. In the meantime, he will remain on complete rest to begin the recovery process.
Due to the incident, the band UDO, led by iconic vocalist Udo Dirkschneider (ex- Accept ), will continue their tour without Tilen until he is fully recovered. The next two shows on the European tour, in Pratteln (September 6th) and Stuttgart (September 7th), will be performed without a bassist, but after these dates, more precisely in Berlin, Germany, on September 9th, Peter Baltes, a close friend of Udo and legendary former bassist of Accept, will join the band as a temporary replacement for the remainder of the shows, including the South American tour in October.
The entire team at Dark Dimensions , the production company responsible for all dates on the South American tour, wishes Tilen Hudrap a speedy recovery and welcomes the also iconic bassist Peter Baltes who, for several decades, was, in addition to Udo himself and Wolf Hoffmann (guitarist), one of the driving forces behind the resounding success that Accept continues to this day.
About Udo Dirkschneider
With over 40 years of career, an extensive and consistent discography with more than 30 albums released, including dozens of world metal classics with the band ACCEPT in the 80s and 90s, a successful career with his band UDO, side projects, solo releases, and more, Udo Dirkschneider returns to Latin America bringing his emblematic, raspy and powerful voice for a series of shows that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, suffered postponements in the last two years.
With the resumption of live shows due to the drastic decrease in pandemic rates, the doors of Brazil have reopened for UDO and company to finally showcase their latest works, especially Game Over , the focus of this new South American tour. Even with the name "Game Over," Udo is far from retiring and will prove it with great vigor, energy, and metal on Latin American stages, promising his fans a unique and immersive experience of the best in classic German heavy metal!
The band's current and incredibly sharp lineup, besides Udo of course and, now, Peter Baltes (ex-Accept) temporarily replacing Tilen Hudrap on bass due to health reasons, includes Andrey Smirnov and Dee Dammers (guitars) and Udo's son on drums, Sven Dirkschneider.
For the opening acts in Brazil, we will have the band Trendkill Ghosts (Power/Heavy Metal), but only in São Paulo will we also have the presence of Skalyface (Heavy/Power Metal).
