Pete Trewavas, bassist for Marillion, updates fans on his health status.

Marillion recently announced that Nick Beggs will replace Pete on the 'Cruise to the Edge' cruise.

Pete Trewavas , bassist for Marillion, posted about his health. He is in the hospital awaiting routine surgery. His band is preparing to participate in the Cruise to the Edge , featuring big names in progressive rock. Since Trewavas will be unable to participate, Nick Beggs has been chosen to replace him.

After the band announced the replacement, Pete thanked all the fans for their support. Below is a free translation of the statement:

"Hey guys.

I just wanted to say how impressed I was by all your kind messages of support and by the people posting well wishes or wishes for a speedy recovery. I am currently resting in the hospital awaiting my surgical procedure.

I feel very good about the whole situation, as I have an excellent surgical team around me and a treatment plan in place.

In the long term, after rehabilitation and recovery, I hope to return to writing with the band as soon as possible, and I am confident that this will happen.

In the short term, as you all know, I will be missing the cruise. Although I am absolutely devastated by this, I would like to thank our good friend Nick Beggs for filling in for me while I am out of action. Nick, as I'm sure you all know, is a great musician and a standout guy. I hope you all enjoy the shows; I just wish I could be there to see you in person.

Once again, a big thank you.

Pete.

Besides Marillion, Pete has the Edison's Children with Rick Armstrong and Eric Blackwood . The group said they are in the mixing phase of their next album, which will be a continuation of the album released in 2019, The Disturbance Fields.
