Pete Townshend , guitarist and creative leader of The Who , said in an interview with The Standard that he and the iconic vocalist, Roger Daltrey , will work together again in 2025.
Townshend commented on new plans ( via Loudwire ): “I met Roger for lunch a few weeks ago. We’re in good shape and we love each other. We’re getting old and frail, but we’re definitely going to do something next year.”
Asked about the possibility of a new The Who album, the guitarist says: “Regarding an album, Roger isn’t enthusiastic. But I would very much like to make another album and I can try to annoy him about it.”
Pete Townshend mentions that the Who's upcoming shows will return to a more raw sound, thus abandoning the orchestral format the band used in 2023.
“The last big tours we did were with an orchestra, which was glorious. But now we’re eager to make some noise and mess around… and make a few mistakes.”
The Who performed at a benefit concert in March of this year at the Royal Albert Hall in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust , raising funds to help teenagers battling cancer.
