Pearl Jam has announced that it will resume activities to participate in the Ohana festival , an event headlined by vocalist Eddie Vedder.
Ohana is scheduled to take place at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, California, between September 24th and 26th. Pearl Jam will be joined by Kings of Leon, My Morning Jacket, Maggie Rogers , and Sharon Van Etten in the lineup.
Last year's edition was postponed due to the pandemic, but this year the festival is expected to take place, as vaccination in the United States is well advanced. Part of the money raised from ticket sales will be donated to the San Onofre Parks Foundation and the Doheny State Beach Foundation.
Speaking about the event, Vedder explained that Ohana is "about the generosity of humankind" and is one of the many philanthropic initiatives the vocalist participates in.
The performance will be Pearl Jam's first with a large audience since 2018, when the band played at Fenway Park in Boston on September 4th. This news also comes shortly after the band announced a streaming platform featuring over 180 of their concerts. See it here.
