Pearl Jam has released the newest single from their album Dark Matter. The single, "Running," showcases a punk rock side of the band. Listen to the track at the end of this article.
In a recent interview with Spin , Stone Gossard explained how the band created "Running": " Jeff [ Ament ] had the main parts on this record and we worked on it as a band."
“I love the bridge. I don’t know what the heck those chords Mike is playing are, but it sounds original. It’s one of the last ones we recorded at Shangri-La, and it was fun to create another upbeat song. Ed’s [ Eddie Vedder ] vocal prowess here and at some other points on the album is simply amazing.”
This is the second single from the album, following the title track which references the icon King Diamond.

Pearl Jam will release Dark Matter on April 19th. The album marks the band's twelfth studio album. Much of it was recorded at Shangri-La, a studio in Malibu, California, originally built by the band. The project was led by producer Andrew Watt.
