Last Tuesday, the 13th, Pearl Jam kicked off their South American tour with a show in Santiago, Chile.
There, the band performed a 30-track set, including covers of Van Halen's "Eruption," Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb," and The Who's "Baba O'Riley.".
In addition to performing covers and classics from the group, the show had special and emotional moments such as the live debut of "Can't Deny Me," a song released last weekend, which featured vocalist Eddie Vedder practicing his Spanish while dedicating the track to the students of Parkland, Florida, who are fighting against access to guns in the United States after a gunman stormed a school and killed 17 people.
The second emotional moment was when Vedder dedicated the song “Come Back” to his friend Chris Cornell. The tribute was extremely special as it marked the first time he publicly spoke about Cornell during a concert. Check out the performances below.
Pearl Jam will come to Brazil in March to perform at the Lollapalooza 2018 on Saturday the 24th. The band will also perform at the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro on March 21st, with Royal Blood opening.
Eddie Vedder will also be performing solo shows in São Paulo on March 28th, 29th, and 30th. More information can be found by clicking here.
