The calendar of international concerts in South America in 2022 is starting to feature big names. According to the Chilean newspaper La Tercera , bands like Pearl Jam , Rolling Stones , Queen , and other rock bands are negotiating shows here for the next 18 months.

And it doesn't end there: local producers also mention ongoing negotiations with Guns N' Roses , currently slated to perform at next year's Rock In Rio Roger Waters and David Gilmour between 2022 and 2023.

The publication reported a stalemate in the Chilean entertainment sector due to the local government's decision to renovate the National Stadium in preparation for the 2023 Pan American Games, which will take place in the capital, Santiago.

Improvements to the country's main stadium are scheduled to be completed in September 2022, but a new clause in the venue's rental contracts could prevent confirmed acts like Metallica and Iron Maiden , as well as artists currently in negotiations, from cancelling their shows. The government's current decision prioritizes the renovations over musical events, and therefore, the deadline for completion could be extended indefinitely, canceling any pre-arranged concerts.

The impasse in question certainly does not affect the concert schedule of these artists in the rest of South America, but the information released by the newspaper indicates some of the main names that should also be touring Brazil by 2023.
