Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder revealed during an interview with Mojo (via Yahoo ) that the band is planning to record a new album soon and invite producer Andrew Watt to work with them.

Watt, who was a member of Glenn Hughes ' band, California Breed , returned to the rock world by producing Ordinary Man Ozzy Osbourne 's most recent album . According to Osbourne himself and close associates, the producer is already working on the successor to Ordinary Man . The producer also recently completed Vedder's solo album, Earthling , which will be released on February 11th.

“We’ll do an album with Andrew, I believe. We’ve already talked about it,” Vedder said. “You know, the pandemic started right when we were about to go on tour for Gigaton [album released in 2020]. And we had a lot of shows planned.”

Vedder also said that Pearl Jam's return to the studio will happen between shows on the new tour. "I think we'll be running for a year or two and then I see us slowing down for a while. We have the ability to play better than ever now, but we also want to maintain the health of the group and keep the desire to continue playing."

In December 2021, Watt said during an interview with Billboard that working with Vedder was a dream come true. "If I counted how many Pearl Jam shows I've seen, it probably wouldn't be enough."
