Pearl Jam launched a campaign with actions that everyone can take
Through their Twitter account, the band Pearl Jam expressed their condemnation of the violence in the US. The topic is currently the subject of much discussion due to the massacre that occurred at a school in Florida, which resulted in the death of 17 people last Wednesday.
Pearl Jam launched the campaign “#ThrowThemOut” :
“We are fed up with leaders who refuse to use common sense in terms of gun legislation. It’s time to #ThrowThemOut , ” Pearl Jam declared on Twitter.
The statement was accompanied by an image that read "Action plan to fire the lawmakers behind the gun lobby" with the respective steps that should be followed.
Subsequently, the band released a new message that read:
“We deserve to live in a country where children are free from gun violence in their schools, in their homes, and in their communities. #EndGunViolence .”
The band also posted a link to the EveryTown with “7 things you can do to prevent gun violence”.
Finally, Pearl Jam concludes:
“We don’t need a moment of silence. We need a moment of action.”
