The band released a statement explaining the situation and apologizing to the fans

Last Tuesday, the 19th, Pearl Jam had to cancel a show they were scheduled to perform at the O2 Arena in London, England, after frontman Eddie Vedder lost his voice. The band had performed at the same venue the previous day, and it seems the vocalist had strained his health.

In an official statement, the group explained the situation and apologized to fans, stating that this was the first time they had had to cancel a show. Check out the statement below.

"Pearl Jam is very sorry to announce that they will not be able to perform tonight's show at the O2 Arena in London. The band is working to reschedule the show for mid-July.".

Lead singer Eddie Vedder has completely lost his voice. He will be resting for the next few days to recover in order to play the upcoming scheduled dates.

This is the first time in our entire career that we've postponed a show for this reason. Ed and the band are very sorry for all the people who traveled and made plans to see them.

Pearl Jam's European tour is set to continue on Friday, June 22nd in Milan
