Pearl Jam adopts non-transferable tickets for US tour.

The band seeks to put an end to improper purchases involving inflated prices

Pearl Jam announced, through their official website , that they will return to the road in the second half of this year. The series of shows will take place only in the United States with nine dates, beginning on August 31st in St. Paul and ending in Indianapolis on September 10th.

On this tour, the group will be testing something different regarding tickets. They will be using an "all-in pricing" system for these performances, meaning that the listed ticket price is the final price, including fees, so there are no surprises at the time of payment.

Furthermore, tickets will be non-transferable, aiming to prevent unauthorized purchases with inflated prices. To create the system, Pearl Jam will enlist the help of Ticketmaster, which has been the subject of several controversies. The company usually engages in this type of ticket resale, but the tool will be blocked this time. Only the state of Illinois will be an exception, as local laws prevent the band from taking this action.

“Tickets for this tour will be non-transferable in all states except Illinois, where it is prohibited by law. We apologize in advance to Illinois fans who may be subject to increased ticket prices on the secondary market,” the band commented on their website.
