Paul Stanley responds to Ace Frehley's threat: "Go f**k yourself"

Former Kiss guitarist gives up on spreading "dirt" about his former bandmates.

Paul Stanley responded to Ace Frehley Kiss guitarist , who promised to release a document capable of "ruining the careers" of the frontman and Gene Simmons . And, instead of the required apology, the response was a "f**k you".

The whole mess started when Stanley referred to the original former Kiss members, Frehley and Peter Criss , as something fans wouldn't want to see on stage: "If you saw people on stage who looked like KISS but sounded like that, maybe the band's name should be PISS [piss]."

In March, Ace Frehley was a guest on the show Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk and expressed dissatisfaction with his former bandmate's comment. "I'm telling you I want a formal apology for what you said and a retraction within seven days. And if I don't get that in seven days, I'm going to (...) say something dirty that nobody knows about Paul and Gene," he threatened.

The guitarist promised to update the show's host on the matter and returned to the program. Asked about the update with Paul Stanley, the musician recounted what happened. “Yes, he [contacted me] shortly after the show aired. I was caught off guard by a phone call… But instead of an apology, I got a five-second call that said, 'Go f**k yourself, Ace. I'm not going to apologize,' and hung up,” Ace said, according to a transcript from Consequence of Sound . “He wasn't even man enough to let me respond and explain why I got so angry or anything like that.”

Ace Frehley tried to discuss the disagreement with Doc McGhee, Kiss's manager, but the response was once again unsatisfactory. "Paul told me he never called you," was the manager's reply.

Despite the situation, the guitarist decided against publicizing the "dirt" that could "ruin the careers" of Stanley and Simmons. "I spoke with many close friends who are God-fearing and who go to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings with them, and they told me not to stoop to their level," he explained. "Then I realized I don't have to divulge anything I have kept in my lawyer's safe deposit box."
