In an interview on Steve-O's Wilde Ride! podcast , Kiss vocalist Paul Stanley disapproved of the fight between members of Jane's Addiction during a show in Boston last month, which resulted in the alternative rock group announcing a hiatus.
Asked if he and his Kiss bandmates had ever exchanged punches on stage, Stanley replied ( via Blabbermouth ):
“Main rule: you don’t attack and you don’t bring your problems onto the stage. You leave your ego, which is the hardest part, your anger and your resentment before you go on. We would go on stage and have a lot of fun. After we left the stage, we weren’t talking to each other anymore. The audience doesn’t deserve that. The audience paid the price.”
Paul Stanley continues: “People have a chance to see you live, possibly on tour. No matter what happened last night or what will happen next night, that’s their night, and for them to see you without interacting with your bandmate, that’s childish. It’s disrespectful to the people who paid to see the band.”
"There were a few times during Kiss tours where two people weren't talking to each other. You go on stage, play, and have fun. Then when you leave the stage, you have nothing more to do with them. It's your job."
