Since 2014, Gene Simmons has been revisiting his controversial statement about rock being dead Paul Stanley 's turn Kiss colleague .

In an interview with Classic Rock , the guitarist and vocalist commented: “It’s a great catchphrase, but that’s all it is. My son Evan is playing all over Los Angeles with a killer rock band and is drawing huge crowds, with beautiful models attending the shows, and that’s proof to me that rock isn’t dead.”

“The music that is most popular with mainstream tastes changes over time, and it comes and goes. There’s a lot of rock music being made now, and some of it may take a while to reach the next level, but it will happen. But the next big rock band won’t be huge because it sounds like a band from the past; that band will have its own voice.”

Paul Stanley, however, wasn't the first musician to disagree with Gene Simmons. Artists like Alice Cooper and Josh Kiszka have also given their opinions. "Maybe the rock world that Gene remembers is dead," said the Greta Van Fleet . "I think rock and roll is an elastic genre, it's a very eclectic genre. It seems that from time to time a generation reinterprets what it is."

In April, the members of Kiss will arrive in Brazil for five shows that mark the group's farewell from the stage, as well as celebrating their 50-year career.
