McCartney: A Life in Lyrics Paul McCartney said Yoko Ono 's presence when the Beatles were in the studio was an "interference."
“John and Yoko got together and that certainly affected the group dynamic,” McCartney told poet Paul Muldoon ( via The Independent ). “Things like Yoko literally being in the middle of a recording session [were] something you had to deal with. The idea was that if John wanted it to happen, then it should happen. There’s no reason why it shouldn’t.”
McCartney commented that, although none of the other Beatles complained about the situation, he believes that "none of us particularly liked" Yoko's presence in the studio.
“It was an interference in the workplace. We had a way of working. The four of us worked with George Martin . And that was basically it. And we always did it that way. So, without being too confrontational, I think we just suppressed it and moved on,” he concludes.
