On the evening of Tuesday, February 11th, Paul McCartney surprised the 575 fans who had purchased tickets that had been announced just hours before the show with an unexpected performance at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City, United States.
The show took place five days before her performance on Saturday Night Live to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the American television comedy program.
McCartney performed a 22-song setlist, which included 14 Beatles , including his "final song" of 2023, "Now and Then".
The fans' reception was excellent, according to McCartney himself in an Instagram post where he commented "BOWERY! You guys ROCKED!" and, also via Variety , Paul was the target of a shower of shouts like "We love you!" and requests for lesser-known songs from his solo career.
The use of cell phones was prohibited during the show in order to preserve the experience and make it a unique event, only for those who were present. For this reason, it is unlikely that there will be videos of the show circulating on social media.
