The work marks the singer's first release in five years
Sir Paul McCartney Egypt Station this Friday, the 7th . The work marks the former Beatle and his first since New (2013).
Featuring 16 tracks recorded between Los Angeles, London, and Sussex, the album was produced by Greg Kursin, with the exception of one track, "Fuh You," which was handled by Ryan Tedder.
In a statement released to the press, the singer explained that the album's name was inspired by a painting he created and carries the idea of taking the fan on a journey with multiple destinations, exploring each song as a stop on the path to listening to and understanding the album.
I like the words 'Egypt Station'. It reminds me of the albums we used to make… Egypt Station starts as a station at the beginning of the album and then each song is a different station. That helped us create the foundation for the songs. I imagine it's a magical place where the music originated.”
