Paul McCartney closed the 50th anniversary special of Saturday Night Live with a Beatles . The iconic bassist chose songs from the classic album Abbey Road (1969) for his performance on the show.

The special, which aired on February 16, marked his return to musical performances on the comedy show after 13 years. His last appearance was in 2012, and the musician made sporadic appearances in 2013 and 2015. (via NME his fifth performance on the show; previously, Paul had performed in 1980, 1993, 2010, and 2012.

The medley performed by Paul McCartney featured three songs from the Beatles album : "Golden Slumbers," "Carry That Weight," and "The End. "

The performance featured Paul singing the first two tracks on the piano and had a great ending with him playing guitar alongside his band, accompanied by applause from the audience.
