Paul McCartney inducted the Foo Fighters into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at a ceremony held last Saturday night, the 30th, at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland.
The ex- Beatle gave a speech before calling the band to the stage: “When I fell in love with rock & roll, I joined a band. Mine was the Beatles, and the world changed. Dave did something similar. He joined a band, Nirvana,” Paul recalled. “We had a lot of fun with our bands, but tragedy struck and mine broke up. The same thing happened to Dave. So the question was: what to do now? We both had that doubt. In my case, I made an album in which I played all the instruments. Dave did the same thing.”
Next, the members of Foo Fighters took to the stage and thanked their colleagues and family. Drummer Taylor Hawkins even extended his thanks to McCartney. Later, the group joined the iconic musician for a version of The Beatles' "Get Back." The band also played major hits from their career such as "Best of You," "My Hero," and "Everlong."
