Paul McCartney says he grows marijuana, but hides it to avoid theft.

The artist said he has a marijuana plantation, among other things, on a farm in England.

Sir Paul McCartney revealed during an interview with the Mirror that he has been growing marijuana for at least 20 years. However, to avoid theft by young people, he hides the plantation among others on his farm in England.

“I like to grow things like red wheat, rye, and pears. We started growing cannabis, and the funny thing is that the government requires you to do it in a hidden location because young people come in and steal it,” he said.

McCartney grows hemp, a type of cannabis known for its low THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) content. This type is used to produce medicines, oils, and cosmetics.

In 2015, the former Beatle revealed that he had stopped using marijuana so as "not to set a bad example" for his children and grandchildren, he told The Daily Mirror newspaper.
