Surprises along the way: “unforeseen production delays” have delayed Paul McCartney , McCartney III , by a week, now arriving on December 18th, as the artist confirmed on his social media.
The album, which marks the 50th anniversary of the self-titled McCartney from 1970, later followed by McCartney II in 1980, is the music legend's first since Egypt Station in 2018. According to McCartney, in an interview with Loud And Quiet , the release only confirms his lack of commitment to what could be his farewell album: “Everything I do is supposed to be my last. When I was 50, it was like, ‘This is his last tour,’” he recalls. “And I was like, ‘Oh yeah? I don’t think so.’ It’s a rumor thing, but it’s okay. When we did Abbey Road I was dead, so everything else was a bonus.”
