The former Beatle shared stories and hits with host James Corden.
Sir Paul McCartney was the latest guest on Carpool Karaoke , a segment of The Late Late Show with James Corden , and it resulted in one of the talk show's most incredible episodes.
The ex-Beatle strolled through Liverpool while singing hits from the legendary band and the recently released single, “Come On To Me” . Macca and Corden visited some of the city's best and most important spots, such as the house where the musician grew up – with stories about John Lennon and Paul's father – and some establishments that inspired him to make music, like the famous Penny Lane street.
Between one story and another, McCartney revealed the story behind the iconic song "Let It Be." He recounted having a dream in which his deceased mother appeared to comfort him about the art he was creating and to tell him that he should just "let it go" (a free translation of "Let It Be"). Corden joined Sir McCartney in the song and finished in tears, remembering his grandfather, who had also passed away.
To wrap up the incredible tour, the duo prepared a secret show at the Philharmonic Dining Rooms pub, where the musician played hits like “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da”, “Love Me Do” and “Hey Jude”, the latter with Corden as a guest.
