Andreas Kisser , guitarist for Sepultura , spoke in an interview on the Knotfest.com about his friendship with Joey Jordison and Paul Gray – more specifically, about the time the three of them got together for the Roadrunner United .
At the time, Kisser lamented the untimely loss of both musicians and recalled that Gray and Jordison were "big fans" of Sepultura and "knew everything" about the band. The guitarist also surprised everyone by revealing that he had a side project with the bassist and co-founder of Slipknot : a band called HAIL!
“Regarding Paul, we were talking about doing something together, a special project. He was in my band, HAIL!, with me, Tim “Ripper” Owens [ Judas Priest ] and Paul Bostaph [ Slayer ], but it was the week he died,” says Andreas. “He was rehearsing for us to get together and go on tour in Europe, so we were kind of working together and HAIL! was the first thing we started. Unfortunately, it didn't happen.”
In the same interview, Andreas Kisser lamented the deaths of the two former Slipknot members and revealed that he changed the version of "Roots" during the Roadrunner United show at Joey Jordison's request.
