Paul Di'Anno will have a compilation album called In Memory Of released by Metalville Records with two previously unreleased bonus tracks called “Je Suis Charlie” and “Killers.” The songs had not been released in physical format before. The compilation is scheduled for release on May 16, one day before what would have been his 67th birthday.
“Je Suis Charlie” is a track that had only been released digitally during his time with Architects of Chaoz, while “Killers” will be a live version of a performance from Wacked Open Air in 2015.
The album features previously unpublished photos and liner notes written exclusively for the compilation by writer Matthias Mader, creator of one of the Iron Maiden .
Part of the profits from CD and LP sales of In Memory Of will be donated to a charity called Metality eV , a non-profit organization that relies on the support of heavy metal fans and artists for various causes such as raising awareness of depression, providing instrumental lessons for young people, making concerts and festivals more accessible, among others.
Life after leaving Iron Maiden
Paul Di'Anno was the vocalist for the legendary band Iron Maiden on their first two albums, Iron Maiden (1980) and Killers (1981), until his departure that same year, motivated by excessive substance use and the band's desire for a vocalist with less punk influence.
After leaving the band, he played in several bands and projects, the best known being Architects of Chaoz and his last project, WARHORSE , which marked his return after a 7-year hiatus due to health problems. At the time, two singles called "Stop the War" and "The Doubt Within" were released as a thank you to fans for helping with his knee surgery. Di'Anno had a falling out with Architects of Chaoz in 2016 after the musicians decided to continue without him .
Paul Di'Anno passed away in October 2024 due to a ruptured pericardium, the membrane surrounding the heart. In recent years, he performed in a wheelchair due to serious health problems.
