Paramore releases 'This Is Why', their first album in six years.

The album follows 'After Laughter' from 2017 and showcases a new, alternative side of the group.

Paramore released their sixth studio album, This Is Why ,

This is the band's first album in almost six years, following After Laughter (2017), as well as their first work to feature the same lineup as its predecessor: Hayley Williams, Taylor York and Zac Farro.

The group had already released three singles: the title track, “The News,” and “C'est Comme Ça.” The other seven tracks have now been revealed, but fans were already expecting a slightly different sound from their previous albums, especially their early ones. This is due to the time elapsed between albums and the fact that vocalist Hayley released her first two solo albums in the meantime, Petals for Armor (2020) and Flowers for Vases / Descansos (2021).

The singer's two albums showcased her sonic diversification and her learning of new ways to explore her voice. Therefore, it was expected that she would continue in this vein with This Is Why . "Running Out Of Time" and "Big Man, Little Dignity," for example, demonstrate a different tone in Williams' voice, as well as a simpler and more unique alternative rock sound.

The upbeat tone of After Laughter threatens to appear – slightly – in “You First” and “Figure 8”, but still with the unique sound of This Is Why : alternative and eccentric, just like the blend of rock, pop punk and indie pop that Paramore has become.

This Is Why clearly shows influences from Hayley's solo albums and other alternative rock bands that have emerged during the years when Paramore was inactive. Listen to the mix of Paramore sounds in This Is Why :
