The sound of Papangu
The band combines progressive rock with influences from Brazilian Popular Music (MPB) and Northeastern rhythms, creating a multifaceted sound. Often, their music blends forró, maracatu, jazz fusion, black metal, and stoner rock, and in those moments, it's impossible not to revisit their albums to understand each piece of these influences.
The band also has a debut album, Holoceno (2021), which is as well-structured and executed as Lampião Rei . The sextet is composed of Hector Ruslan , Marco Mayer , Pedro Francisco , Raí Accioly , Rodolfo Salgueiro , and Vitor “Vespa” Alves .
