Papa Roach , "Wake Up Calling," this Wednesday, the 28th, continuing their "Rise of the Roach" mantra.
The track follows in the footsteps of the band's certified hit rock ballads, such as "Scars" and "Leave A Light On (Talk Away The Dark)". It also highlights the melodic and emotionally vulnerable side of the group's songwriting, without sacrificing the intensity and honesty that have defined their career for over two decades.
“Wake Up Calling” was first performed in a surprise show in Nashville last week for an audience of artists and industry professionals during the renowned Whiskey Jam on Broadway.
Produced by Colin Brittain ( Linkin Park, All Time Low, A Day To Remember ), the song explores themes such as connection, self-evaluation, and emotional dependence, driven by grand choruses that build to an intense and emotionally charged climax.
Lead singer Jacoby Shaddix commented:
“'Wake Up Calling' is a song about being on the brink of disaster, being pulled back from the abyss. And, in the end, choosing love over self-destruction. It's one of the rawest and most emotional songs we've written in this new phase.”
The audio release comes with a lyric video and follows a series of chart-topping hits in 2025, such as “Even If It Kills Me” and “BRAINDEAD” (feat. Toby Morse ). It also marks the band's best tour results of their career, having performed for over a million fans in 2025. “The Rise of the Roach” is both a nickname for the band and a clear indication of their future.
