Grimme was murdered after a show
Pantera released a statement this weekend regarding the murder of Christina Grimme, a former contestant on The Voice who was murdered last Friday shortly after a concert. Grimme was signing autographs and meeting fans when she was shot by a member of the audience.
Pantera released a statement criticizing the lack of security at concerts and linking the death to the murder of Dimebag Darrell in 2004
“We are so sad and disappointed that Christina Grimmie was shot and killed in the same way Dimebag Darrell was. After Dime’s murder, we strongly urged the industry (venue owners and producers) to do everything possible to protect artists from gun-owning fanatics. Unfortunately, this is not the case, and yet another rising star has had to pay the consequences with her life. SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE! RIP Christina & RIP Dime, Jeff Thompson, Erin Hawk, and Nathan Bray.”
Christina Grimmie finished in third place on the sixth season of The Voice. The singer had previously posted covers of songs on YouTube, including "Lonely Day" by System Of A Down.
